Lecture: Political Scientist, says FG policy of reintegrating repented terrorists should be sustained

Prof Jonah Onuoha of the University of Nigeria Nsukka has called for the continuation of the Federal Government’s deradicalisation and reintegration programme for repentant terrorists, arguing that poverty and lack of economic opportunities remain major drivers of insecurity in Nigeria. Speaking during a security lecture at UNN, the professor also urged the government to adopt similar economic empowerment strategies to address separatist agitations in the South-East.
